More HD With Direct TV

We have been itching to get away from Comcast for quite a while. The problem is they give you a good deal with their packages that include voice, high speed internet, and cable television service. When customers try to remove one, you miss out on the savings of the package.

But the cable television setup just needs to go, as the service and quality is well below par. There is so much talk today about hi def, there isn’t much of that with Charter cable TV. So I started researching who else was providing service in my area.

I am fortunate to be one of the people who have a couple of choices. Unlike a few folks who can only select from just the cable company or Direct TV satellite TV, I have a third provider in this region. The phone company in this area has been upgrading the telephone network. So there is an additional player with Verizon and their FiOS service.

That doesn’t of course mean I won’t have similar problems. It would put me in the same situation as with the cable company, because phone company want customers to package their TV setup with high speed and voice service. If the service works out well, customers will be happy. But if its not you’re in the same circumstance that I’m in now with the cable operator.  So I’m doing a side by side comparison, Direct TV vs cable so I make the right decision.

Most reviews I found on the internet are pretty good on telecom television service. Because it is new, there is always a risk with a new technology like this, and some customers share their bad reviews. Those reviews are the funny, because people make the decision to write a bad review on their bad experience and share it on the world wide web. They rail on the company like it is some huge conspiracy to make the customer unhappy, as if the company doesn’t want our money!

Another option I am looking into is of course satellite television. Because we have six television watchers in the house, we have subscribed in the past to a high end cable television bundle. The satellite TV choices seem to be fairly even, as the Premier Direct TV package and the DISH Network America’s everything package are both right around $110 a month. Sure that’s pretty high for cable television, but if you compare that to taking your family to supper and a show, it really isn’t all that much. Some of my family speak Spanish, so the Direct TV Mas bundle looks pretty good. The nice thing is that there are lots of Direct TV opinions to help me decide which direction to take.
